In this bold and daring film experiment from Korea shot in real time, a mentally unstable street artist finally gets tired of the harassment he has been receiving from the local thugs for years. He decide to inflict ruthless revenge on the bullies while allowing a mysterious girl with a camcorder to document his acts of vengeance. Shot in just over three hours in a single day with the help of twelve directors and a staff of 120, "Real Fiction" is not only an unorthodox exercise in cinema, but also a gripping tale of one man's desire for self-respect.

Sypnosis:

In this action-fantasy thriller, drugs worth 10 billion won are stolen during a transfer by the police. The police suspect chief investigator O (played by Gang Sinil) who was in charge of the delivery. Detective Gang Seongju (played by Go Su) doubts that O is the suspect, and chases another man who later dies in a traffic accident. The only clue left is the mobile phone number of the dead suspect. Other suspects are mysteriously dying one by one, making the case shrouded into further mystery. Meanwhile, Seongju encounters with reporter Seo Yujin (played by Song Jihyo) who later feels a strong sense of déjà vu that Seongju is killed. Director Jang Yunhyeon has made a dramatic comeback five years following the success of "The Contract" (1997), dealing with new generation lovers, and thriller mystery "Tell Me Something (1999)." Although this film faithfully follows in the footsteps of Hollywood style police movies, in terms of content and action, the director adds Korean flavor. Although the word "some" does not refer to anything by itself, it nevertheless plays an important role as a major symbol of the film.

He Got It All Wrong - The Massacre of VT

By now, many of you would have heard of the horrifying tragedy at Virginia Tech. To think that someone who so brazenly disregarded lives of innocent coming from South Korea is hard to fanthom. What ticked me most was the association of his act with my favorite movie, *OLDBOY*. Sure, the bastard posted pictures of himself imitating Oh Dae Su, and he reportedly watched OLDBOY repeatedly before his act of evil. But OLDBOY does not glorify the act of revenge. Instead, to fully understand the movie, one has to find the underlying message the filmaker is trying to potray. OLDBOY does not justify revenge, infact, it condemned the merciless act of Oh Dae Su.To those who've watched OLDBOY, you know what good revenge did to Oh Dae Su. He is more tortured thenafter.

Here's two article of interest to those who wants to read more about what this bastard got so wrong about Oldboy.

Nothing can ever justify such a shamless act. May Peace be with all the innocent lives lost.
