Sypnosis:

If you like the 1979 American cult film ``Rocky Horror Picture Show,’’ you would love its Korean version. The film aims to present unique tastes combining different genres including musical, horror and cult.

Directed by Lee Hyung-gon, the movie takes the motif from the ghastly Korean tale of ``kumiho,'' a fox with nine tails that desperately yearns to become human but can only do so by gobbling up the livers of 100 unfortunate souls.

But different from the scary original, the film revolves around a wacky kumiho family, who struggle to become a human while they run a circus with their tricks and magical powers.

Sypnosis:

Love is never simple in real life, but it’s all those hours of fighting, arguing, and throwing things at each other that make the moments when things actually go right all the more precious. Kim Hae Gon’s debut film, Between Love and Hate, is exactly about that ever complicated, irritating, yet irresistible feeling. Bar girl Yeon Ah (Chang Jin Young of Blue Swallow) and Young Woon (Kim Seung Woo of Hotelier), with a failed marriage and a job at his mother’s pork rib restaurant, start their relationship almost as a joke. But then all that charm and seduction turns into slaps, curses, screams, and bottles of soju against the wall.

Why continue such a charade? For the quiet after the storm. What keeps them together are the moments between love and hate.Kim Hae Gon has had quite the interesting career. A former theater actor with an illustrious past, he got his film start right along Kim Seung Woo in Im Kwon Taek’s The General’s Son in 1990, and has mainly played minor roles since. Though his movie acting career has been unremarkable, Kim has become an acclaimed writer of films like FailanBlue. For eight years he worked on his dream project, originally titled The Face I Miss, and now he’s finally created his first film, which maintains the incredible energy and frank dialogue and situations of his previous works.

No Mercy For The Rude

No Mercy For The Rude
(Yeui-eomneun geotdeul)

Release Date : 2006
Director: Park Cheol Hee
Writer: Park Cheol Hee

Cast:
Shin Hak Kyun
Yoon Ji Hye

Playlist URL

Sypnosis:

Startling shifts between post-modern comedy and brutal violence mark tyro writer-helmer Park Chulhee’s “No Mercy for the Rude” as an ultra-hip variation on the ever-popular Korean hit man subgenre. Crackerjack pace, absurdist set pieces and an intriguing lead perf by Shin Hakyun as a mute killer-for-hire have helped boost pic to solid local returns since its Aug. 24 opening, and rousing response at the Vancouver festival points to promising offshore returns at fests and upscale markets on both sides of the Pacific. If ever there were a Korean import aimed at Stateside auds and ready for the Tarantino seal-of-approval, this is it.

An early sign of the film’s strategy of unsettling the viewer is how anti-hero Killa (Shin, looking super-cool) narrates his story, even though he has long refused to talk until he gets an operation to fix a severe speech impediment. To pay for the operation, Killa has opted to work as an assassin, but the knife-wielding killer will only do in obnoxious, nasty targets.

Dailymotion woes

Please note that dailymotion.com has also started to remove my vids from their server.
I have already found some alternative sources and will be phasing out uploads to dailymotion. As of now, a huge percentage of my vids are still hosted at their site. I am afraid that once the vids are remove, it will be permanent. It is too time consuming to upload and reupload all the time.

My advise to everyone is, as good as it lasts, watch to your hearts content. Don't count on it being there forever.

To those who reported my vids (youtube and dailymotion), live each day to the fullest. You never know when is your last.

Woman On The Beach

Woman On The Beach (Hae Byeon Eui Yeo In)

Release Date : 2006
Director: Hong Sang Soo
Writer: Hong Sang Soo

Cast:
Ko Hyeun Gang ... Moon Sook
Kim Seung Woo ... Joong Rae
Kim Tae Woo ... Chang Wook

WATCH IT HERE

Sypnosis:

Widely regarded as acclaimed Korean filmmaker Hong Sang-soo's finest cinematic accomplishment to date, Woman on the Beach concerns Chang-wook won (Seung-woo kim), a mercurially-tempered writer-director drafting a screenplay during his stay at an off-season oceanside resort. Chang-wook becomes acquainted with two female vacationers, each of whom unwittingly exposes undercurrents of hostility and self-destructiveness inside of him; he then uses the encounters as script fodder. The film represents Sang-soo's exploration of the machismo, aggression and hostility that typically lie at the core of the male id and are often exercised in masculine behavior. Woman on the Beach was screened at the 2006 New York Film Festival, at the Film Society of Lincoln Center. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide
