Sypnosis:

Sypnosis:

During the 1850s, KIM Byung-moon saves young Seung-up from being beaten by a group of drifters. Seung-up draws him a picture to explain the reason of being beaten. KIM looks carefully at Seung-up's rough yet extraordinary talent... and years later, KIM encourages Seung-up to pursue the life of a true artist and gives him a pen name, Oh-won. Seung-up meets Mae-hyang, a daughter of a declined Yangban(nobility) who attracts him deeply. But, they part when she runs away from persecution of the catholic.

Seung-up leaves and wanders about in pursuit of the truth of art. Nobody can hold on to him. Only through pleasure can he eagerly stroke his paintbrush. He confirms the power of his brush stroke through his painting of a monkey with a liquor bottle in hand while mocking the world. As fame builds up, he yearns to change and stretch beyond his limits. Then one day, he experiences all his body's energy flowing into the paintbrush. Seung-up, in a misshaped bowl, discovers the state he has strived to attain and turns his back to the world and fades away...

Sypnosis:

January 1968, 31 members of North Korean Special Unit 124 infiltrated South Korea with the ultimate mission of assassinating President Park Chung-hee. In a retaliatory move, the South composed the Silmido Special Unit of dysfunctional social outcasts and criminals under death or life sentences. Their classified mission: explode the North Korean presidential palace and behead Kim Il-sung. They survive the most hellish inhumane ‘killing’ training and are reborn as human armories. However, the project is suddenly revoked and while the hellish training continues there is no more mission. The psychological frustration and physical tolerance start to reach their limits and soon the members start to lose their focus and unity. Then in 1970, with a growing peacemaking movement between the North and the South, the government decides to demolish the Unit and executes all its members ...

A martial arts detective story set during Korea's Choson Kingdom. A young female detective Namsoon and her trusty companion Detective Ahn are called to investigate a case involving counterfeit money. She goes undercover and disguises herself in several incarnations: as a man at a tavern, as a woman selling liquor at a colourful marketplace and as a beautiful Kisaeng, the Korean equivalent of a geisha. Namsoon repeatedly encounters a mysterious, handsome swordsman named Sad Eyes and it is sparring at first sight. Evidently and inexplicably attracted to each other, they engage in a cat-and-mouse game and engage in duels that only strengthen their mutual feelings. But their combat also results in the devastating disclosure that Sad Eyes, as a loyal acolyte of the Minister of Defence, has a role in the latter's plot to seize control of the country and is therefore Namsoon's enemy. v
